Specialists of the geodetic survey department of the State Enterprise "Belorusneft-Neftekhimproekt" performed field work on scanning the storage warehouse of petroleum products "Bernady-Priluki" RUE "Belorusneft-Brestoblnefteprodukt" with subsequent cameral processing of the received materials. The customer received an almost perfect and absolutely detailed picture of the object.
3D laser scanning technology has made it possible to obtain a dense point cloud consisting of more than 450 billion points, each of which has its own natural color, and covering the entire territory of the enterprise, including industrial equipment. This approach gave a spatial three-dimensional image of existing buildings, structures and aboveground communications with absolute accuracy, and the data can later be used to create a solid-state digital and information model.
Another unique feature of laser scanning is the use of the results obtained in a virtual reality system. At the end of the desk work, the object was loaded into the program, where, with the help of VR glasses, the customer "walked" across the entire site, "climbed" onto the tanks, examined the structures, down to the smallest details.
