Specialists of the Department of Engineering and Geodetic surveys of the state enterprise "Belorusneft-Neftehimproekt" continue to master the possibilities of 3D laser scanning technology, which replaces the existing standards regulating the process of shooting industrial objects.
The use of laser scanning makes it possible to obtain three-dimensional models of storage tanks, information about the deviation of their geometric parameters from the standard or project, as well as data allowing to assess the current state of the object. High productivity and automation of field measurements using laser scanning technology allows you to assess the condition of the object as quickly as possible, with a high degree of reliability of the final results.
The actual geometry of industrial tanks is far from ideal. This applies to both new facilities and those in operation. Monitoring their condition using traditional techniques is a time-consuming procedure that requires considerable time.
Laser scanning makes it possible to simplify this task and optimize the production process of this type of work. The received data form a final technical report, which allows the customer to fully assess the current state of the object of interest to him.
