The Department of Geodetic Surveys of the state enterprise Belorusneft-Neftekhimproekt conducted a 3D laser scanning of a section of a technological road on the territory of one of the industrial mining pits.
To calculate the maximum loads exerted on the vehicle, special software can be used, which uses a triangulation model of the roadway in a certain format as the basis for engineering calculations.
Solving this problem with the help of traditional geodetic techniques, a huge amount of both labor and time resources is spent. The use of laser scanning technology made it possible to complete the work in the shortest possible time
The resulting point cloud, which went through the post-processing procedure (equalization, cleaning of extraneous noise and objects), later became the basis for creating an accurate triangulation model of the roadway. Compliance with the scanning procedure technology, the specified maximum length of the triangle edges made it possible to obtain an optimal road model that displayed even minor differences in terrain due to the high density and accuracy of the cloud.
The triangulation basis was subsequently used by the customer as the source data for solving the tasks.
